Tour Description

Enjoy a rejuvenating forest-bathing walk through Wombat State Forest as we guide you on a unique hiking experience. Departing just 10 minutes drive from the Daylesford township, we take you off the beaten track to explore and soak in the true beauty of the forest.

After a short introduction, we head off for our hike, heading deeper into the forest and stopping along the way to look at some of the native flora and habitats of the local fauna, as well as relics from the long past mining days of the area. We incorporate an introduction to the concepts of mindfulness with our observations of the natural landscape to allow the group to get the most out of their guided hiking experience.

At various points along the hike we stop to guide you through different focal points, where we use the forest environment to practice some basic mindfulness skills. Throughout our journey we seek to develop a deeper connection with the forest by tuning in to the present moment. We practice hearing, seeing and sensing the forest in ways that both relax and inspire us.

The presentation of mindfulness and concepts discussed on the tour are very down-to-earth and accessible for all. Mindfulness is an evidence-based practice that has been scientifically proven to improve your attention and awareness and lower stress levels.

Along the walk, casual conversation is welcome. There is a section towards the end where we will enjoy the serenity of the forest by walking in silence for about 15 minutes.

The tour finishes with a hot or cold drink (depending on the weather) and a snack overlooking a tranquil forest dam.
